It's disgraceful that we have any use for the phrase "every time there's a mass shooting"

Every time there's a mass shooting, a parade of Republicans offer teary condolences to the victims and their families. And then they do nothing to prevent the next one.

Stand against the Politics of Nothing. Sign the petition to demand sensible gun safety legislation.

Yesterday, we watched another community try to make sense of a nightmarish massacre of their children. And before the day was out, Republicans were on TV, demanding we urgently do nothing to solve the problem.

The NRA has them so scared of taking any commonsense response on gun violence – enforcing waiting periods, closing the gun show loophole, taking weapons of war off of our streets – that many Republicans are afraid to even have a conversation about gun violence.

Think about that: They're not just scared to solve the problem, they're scared to talk about solving the problem.

We can't afford leadership that's scared of solutions. The price is way too steep.

Tell Republicans, "Protect our families, not the NRA. Pass commonsense gun safety measures now."
