He rode in on a skateboard...

Hello from Texas, where Lauren and I spent the weekend campaigning with my friend Beto O'Rourke.

Campaigning with Beto is not exactly your typical day on the trail. The second we landed, he put me behind the wheel and turned on his Facebook livestream. No staff, no talking points, no agenda — we drove across the Rio Grande Valley talking about everything from our marriage proposals to our kids' favorite bedtime songs.

This is no ordinary campaign. And Beto is no ordinary candidate. Chip in today to support Beto and show our country what the future of the Democratic Party looks like.

Together, Beto and I hit rallies in Corpus Christi, McAllen and Harlingen, all at least a thousand people strong. A thousand people showing up on a dreary Saturday in October to hear from Beto, because when he speaks he reminds them what our country could be. What it should be.

(It doesn't hurt that — I kid you not — he entered our first rally by zooming across the stage on a skateboard!)

In this final stretch to Election Day, Beto's campaign will be working overtime to talk to voters, help folks make plans to get to the polls, and get the word out that if people vote, Beto will win.

The contrast with Ted Cruz couldn't be more powerful: Beto's integrity, authenticity, and respect for the people and values of this country vs. Cruz's extremism, callousness, and pursuit of power at all costs. There is no one – no one – better equipped to defeat Cruz and everything he stands for.

A blue victory in Texas is within reach. Let's bring it home. Donate today to ditch Cruz and elect Beto O'Rourke to the U.S. Senate!
